Overview

The Rice County Tourism Board allocates guest tax dollars from local hotels and motels to promote county venues and activities, primarily targeting overnight visitors. Eligibility

Any organization may apply if they adhere to the application guidelines. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to track the impact and effectiveness of their project, including the number of rooms booked for the event funded.

Ineligibility

• Applications submitted less than 60 days before the event.

• Events not promoting tourism in Rice County.

• Requests exceeding the maximum grant amount of $1,000.

• Applications lacking necessary documentation or information.

Preference

Preference will be given to:

• New applicants.

• Events bringing visitors into Rice County lodging facilities.

• Projects promoting and impacting Rice County's economy.

• Use of funds to support local purchases or vendors.

• Recognition of Rice County Tourism at the event.

• Applications must be submitted by the 20th of the month preceding the event:

o Jan/Feb/Mar events: Due by Nov 20th

o Apr/May/Jun events: Due by Feb 20th

o Jul/Aug/Sep events: Due by May 20th

o Oct/Nov/Dec events: Due by Aug 20th
